LevelUp ("the Extension", "we", "us", or "our") is a browser extension designed to help users create, improve, and manage professional content and messages using AI-powered tools. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your information is handled.

2. Data Collection

We collect limited, anonymous usage data to improve the extension. We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII), message content, resume data, or sensitive platform data.

• Anonymous Usage Data: We collect anonymized analytics events (such as extension opened or feature used) to understand product usage and improve functionality.
• Account Data: LevelUp uses Supabase for authentication. Your email and a hashed password are stored securely. Your session token is saved locally in Chrome storage and is never shared.
• Local Storage Data: Your message history, resume text, templates, preferences, and profile-related data are stored exclusively on your device and are never sent to LevelUp servers.
• Platform Data (Read-Only, On-Demand):
  • Name and headline are accessed only when needed to auto-fill templates and are not stored.
  • Job descriptions are accessed only when you trigger relevant features and are stored temporarily in your browser.
  • Messages are accessed only when you request AI-generated replies and are stored temporarily.

3. How AI Features Work

• All AI requests are sent from your browser to LevelUp's secure backend, which forwards them to OpenAI.
• Your prompts are not logged or stored by LevelUp. The backend exists solely to process requests and track usage for free/paid tier enforcement.
• LevelUp's backend stores only your email address, usage count, and subscription status.

4. Analytics

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics.

• Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized.
• No personally identifiable information is collected.
• No message content, platform data, resume data, or API keys are included.
• No advertising networks are used.
• Your data is never sold.

5. Use of Permissions

• scripting: Read page content for user-triggered features.
• tabs: Detect relevant pages.
• storage: Save data locally.
• contextMenus: Provide right-click actions.
• sidePanel: Display the interface.
• activeTab: Interact with the current page when triggered.

6. Third-Party Services

OpenAI: AI features are processed via LevelUp's backend, which forwards requests to OpenAI. View OpenAI Privacy Policy.

Supabase: Used for authentication and account management.

PostHog: Used for anonymous analytics tracking.

7. Data Security

• Personal data (message history, resume text, templates, preferences) is stored locally on your device.
• LevelUp's backend stores only your email, usage count, and subscription status.
• No platform data is transmitted to our servers.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the extension constitutes acceptance of updates.
